IFRA Guidelines

International Standards for Fragrance Materials

IFRA (International Fragrance Association) sets global standards for the safe use of fragrance materials. We ensure your perfumes meet all IFRA guidelines.

What is IFRA?

The International Fragrance Association is the global umbrella organization for the fragrance industry. It publishes scientifically-based guidelines that determine which fragrance materials can be safely used at what concentrations.

The 11 IFRA Categories

IFRA divides products into 11 categories based on exposure level. Perfume falls into Category 4, which defines specific maximum concentrations for each regulated fragrance ingredient.

Categories 1-3: Lip care, deodorants, baby products

Category 4: Fine fragrances (Perfume)

Categories 5-11: Other cosmetics & household
